Percolate: Lobster Theremin Showcase @ Oval Space | 8th April

The days are getting longer and we are inching our way closer to the beloved festival season but as long as the sun keeps shinning and the bank holidays keep coming there’s no reason to speed things up when there are line ups like this appearing in London. The Percolate boys always seem to get a party right but just for good measure they have teamed up London based label, Lobster Theremin.

With Legowelt being the front man anything is capable when you get him in a rhythm. His ability to constantly produce tracks is remarkable and that’s not even counting the unreleased stuff that he certainly wont be holding back on with a night like this. Especially with Tin Man (Live) supporting him.

His acid house sets are something of a masterpiece on the vinyl’s let alone when he has a Roland 303 and many more toys at his finger tips. I know he’ll be dropping the big ones and who can blame him when he was Route 8 (Live) pushing things forward with his strong beated analogue house to get the crowd in perfect sync. So grab your ticket quick and just let Percolate and Lobster Theremin do the rest.

Dusky - Live @ Village Underground | 16th April

Dusky are bringing their new ‘electronic live show’ to London at Village Underground. Since the release of their debut album ‘Stick By This’ in 2011 Dusky have gone on to establish themselves as one of the most talented and popular duos in the current electronic underground scene – not to mention one of our favs for sure!

This is what Nick & Alfie from Dusky had to say ahead of their debut live show: “ Over the past few years, our releases have focused very heavily on the various club-ready strains of our sound in tandem with our DJ sets. But as artists, we’re constantly exploring the outer edges of what Dusky represents and taking influence from our wider tastes and musical histories. Not all of the music we’ve been making necessarily fits into our standard DJ sets, but all of it has a deep connection with electronic music and the dancefloor culture that surrounds it, which is what led us to conceive our live show. The soundtrack to our promo video above is a taste of some of the broader musical sound worlds that make up the show, but we’ve also been working on live versions of the music we’ve released to date.”

Dusky are always one to watch and there’s no doubt this live show will be special. In support Klose One & Christian Piers – not one to miss!

Gateway to Zen @ Corsica Studios | 22nd April

For this one, revered selector Nick Craddock takes his celebrated South London techno night Gateway to Zen to London’s best railway-arch venue, Corsica Studios. This is the first time Gateway to Zen is being held away from its usual locations at Rye Wax and Canavan’s, but fear not, the intimacy will remain as Room two will stayed closed for the night. All four residents - Nick Craddock, Diskomo Oblast, Tom Whatmore and Charlie Leahy – will be delighting punters’ ears; expect to hear all sorts of adventurous techno, from deep hypnosis to punchy rave tracks.

At only a fiver on the door, Gateway to Zen makes for one of London’s cheapest club nights, and as cheap an entry as you’ll find for Corsica! However, numbers are going to be capped making for an un-crowded, better clubbing experience, so we’d advise buying advance as to not miss out on the door.

The most exciting thing about Gateway to Zen is the safe space policy they’ve been promoting since Apirl last year. Their policy aims at reducing the impact of harassment and discrimination of any kind, empowering people to report antisocial behavior to club promoters. On top of this they advocate diversity and mutual respect for one another on the dance floor.

You can read up on Gateway to Zen’s latest escapade at Bloc earlier this month here and further information on their Safe Space Policy here.

We’re really excited for this one, as it’s taking a leading roll in establishing a night catering for the desires and needs of club-goers, in a city which appears more and more hostile to catering for club nights. Cheap, safe space policy, prime selectors, great venue: if you’re heading out at all this April, go Zen!

Fever 105 3rd Birthday Disco Party with Francois K, Joey Negro, John Morales & Family @ Oval Space | 29th April

Fever 105 are turning three, so to celebrate they’ve decided to ‘crank up the funk a notch’ and they’ve certainly done that by flying over New York legends Francois K & David Morales to one of London’s most sought after venues Oval Space. If that’s not enough they’ve only got the equally legendary Dave Lee aka Joey Negro in to join the party.

Kicking things off in Manchester these guys are now setting themselves a good name down in the capital too with their three other London parties at the Bussey Building, Loft Studios, and the Prince of Wales in Brixton all selling out. With suitably inviting artwork Fever 105 does what it says on the tin, hosting fun, groovy funk ‘n’ disco nights. Go get down
